“PURPOSEFUL BOOKS”
EMAIL SERIES - DAY 1
Hi, there, awesome subscriber. Thanks for being part of my free email series, “Purposeful Books That Have Helped My Life And Career.”
Here’s the recap of the first few books I discussed in my first email to you…
*Book #1 Name: How Successful People Think by John Maxwell (Amazon Affiliate)
*How It Helped Me: I really appreciated this book, and how it details over 10 different types of thinking. When I first read this, I found I needed to lean into creative thinking more, and also pay attention to realistic and strategic thinking. This is a book I will keep coming back to as a professional and in my personal life. I think this can be a great addition to your own library, regardless of your job, experience level, industry, or career field.
*Book #2 Name: 48 Days To The Work You Love by Dan Miller (Amazon Affiliate)
*How It Helped Me: This book in the early 2010’s really changed how I went about my own personal job search and career discovery. Also, I’ll say it helped me take more initiative and following up with companies in my own job searches. This book also led me to much of the work I do know in teaching and coaching adults to make positive, informed career decisions.
*Book #3 Name: Do Over by Jon Acuff (Amazon Affiliate)
*How It Helped Me: I appreciated how Acuff’s book got really practical in thinking about the work aspect of your life. I needed to read this and understand how we can all face “bump” moments, when we need to lean into our networking skills (also called professional relationship building skills). Plus, I appreciated and agree with Acuff that there’s a continued need for you and me to keep learning and growing as we keep working — what he’d call adding to your “career savings account.”
Keep watching your email inbox for the rest of my emails in this series!
